Corrie Bosses Want Gallagher

Hello and welcome to another edition of A Slice Of Soap. There's still time to enter this week's caption competition so get scribbling and make us all laugh. Smile

NoelHey guys, here's a bit of interesting soap gossip for you. Apparently Coronation Street chiefs want ex Oasis star, Noel Gallagher, to appear on their 50th anniversary show next year. ITV have already confirmed they're looking for big names for the show and producer Kim Crowther recently told the Daily Star: “I would love to bring Hilda back – and Mavis. Noel Gallagher would be great. There are also plans for some new faces in the factory.”

Hey, can you imagine that soapsters, Noel Gallagher appearing on the cobbles...that would be fantastic! I wonder what the producers would have him do on the show? Apparently, in jest, Gallagher has said in the past, that he wouldn't mind having a scrap with David Platt...that would certainly make for some interesting TV, but what would be even better, is if the soap bosses could also get Noel's little brother, Liam to appear on 50th anniversary show. I tell you, if they could pull that off, there'd be more interest in that 50th anniversary episode of Corrie, than there was when British heavy weight champ, David Haye fought and defeated that 7ft Russian, Valuev. Yeah…fight fans across the globe would be tuning in to watch Coronation Street.

Anyway, I hope that Noel Gallagher does agree to do a cameo on  Corrie's 50th Anniversary show next year, but who would you like to see on the cobbles in 2010? Let us know your thoughts by leaving a comment.

That's it for me, I'm out of here. Don’t forget to try our caption competition and join me on Friday for more soap news and gossip. Got a comment about your favourite soap, this blog or anything else? Share it with me.

EastEnders’ Lucus Johnson Strikes Again!

EastEnders w/e Friday November 27

Hello and welcome to another edition of A Slice Of Soap. There's still time to enter this week's caption competition so get scribbling and make us all laugh. Smile What's going on in the soaps this week? Let's find out…

Hey guys here's a bit of good news. According to reports in The Sun, Peggy Mitchell will not be killed off when Babs Windsor leaves EastEnders. A source told the newspaper: "Barbara has such a fondness for Peggy that she genuinely wants to play her again. She doesn't want the character killed off. Producers understand that." The source claims that the veteran actress is keen to reprise the role in 2012,stating that Windsor may return full-time, but is more likely to come back for "special storylines".

lucus1 So, if the reports in The Sun are true, we’ll definitely be seeing more of Peggy Mitchell in the future. Great news! But sadly the same can’t be said for EastEnders' ex con Owen Turner, cos this is the week he meets his maker (with a little bit of help from murderous man-of- the-cloth, Lucus Johnson, of course). And can I say that this storyline is completely ridiculous? Honestly, talk about a lack of credibility.

It's the week of Lucus and Denise's wedding. A wedding - we all know the unwritten soap rule about them, don't we? The drama unfolds as Owen finds out that Lucus murdered Trina. Intent on stopping Lucus and Denise from saying "I do", Owen tries to disrupt the proceedings. But when Lucus eventually catches up with him, let's just say that there are 'grave' consequences... Sigh.

Also on ‘Enders this week… fretting over Sam's whereabouts, Peggy leaves a panicky message on Grant's phone (if only Ross Kemp would come back!). Meanwhile, a mystery man arrives on the Square in search of Phil. Jordan's upset that everyone's forgotten about Trina.

Masood's intrigued when Amira receives a letter demanding rent, and another from HM Prison Service. Amira's forced to look for another flatmate. Jordan's upset when the council denies permission to plant 'A Tree for Trina'. Also, Libby begs Owen to leave Lucas and Denise alone so that they can enjoy their wedding. Phil admits that he went to a loan shark. Peggy's fuming when she discovers that Phil's sold the Arches to Pat. Masood’s furious with Ian and his hot tub. Owen storms Denise's hen night and screams at her not to marry Lucas. Later, Owen confronts Lucas and informs him that he knows about Trina's bracelet...

Also on EastEnders this week:
Libby visits Owen in prison
Phil realises he's in over his head
Roxy asks Dr Al on a date

Emmerdale w/e Friday November 27

I'm a bit upset to pass on the news that resident love rat Mark Wylde, played by Maxwell Caulfield, is set to leave Emmerdale in an explosive storyline in the New Year. Series Producer Gavin Blyth said: "The highly anticipated departure of Mark Wylde has given us scope for a fantastic exit storyline over the winter months that will keep viewers on the edge of their seats." Blyth added: "This is the final act to be played out for Mark Wylde and it's guaranteed to be as unpredictable and explosive as when any major character leaves Emmerdale." Such a shame - Mark's so cheesy that I got a perverted enjoyment out of him.

While we wait for Mark's departure, this week Charity successfully steals the swipe card from Cain's wallet and heads to the storage unit. Meanwhile Cain uncovers Charity's plan. Marlon chickens out of telling Paddy about his feelings for Moira... will he continue to hide his feelings? Debbie's gutted when she comes home to find a furious Cain throwing Charity and Noah’s belongings into the street... has Charity blown it for good this time? Nikhil and Jai wonder whether Laurel's fit enough to return to work.

Cain's furious when he finds out Charity's been staying at Marlon's. Infuriated by the way he's been treated by Charity, Cain forces the money on her, before leaving the village. again in the pub. Meanwhile, Charity stuns Marlon and Chas when she reveals that she wants Cain and not the money... is Charity finally being truthful? Priya's finding it hard being supervisor… will she live up to her brothers' expectations? Mark tells Faye that he wants her and that he loves her.

Also on Emmerdale this week:
Cain's seething by Charity's betrayal
Marlon confesses his feelings for Moira
Mark's annoyed when he sees Jai and Faye together

Coronation Street w/e Friday November 27

Hey soapsters, just a little bit of an update on Maggie Jones' condition. If you recall, last month the actress (who plays Blanche Hunt) was rushed to hospital for emergency surgery following a recent health scare. According to show boss Kim Crowther: "Maggie is making a slow and steady recovery..." As to when she'll be returning, Ms Crowther added: "Hopefully Maggie will be with us when she can be." Here on A Slice Of Soap we wish Maggie a speedy recovery. I hope she knows that the show isn't half as entertaining when she's not in it.

CarlaQuestioned Back to this week's drama and Maria tells Carla that Tony confessed to Liam's murder. Carla feigns ignorance. Sally's furious as the garage books appear to show miscellaneous expense claims. Steve realises that Dev's having secret golf lessons. The police question Carla about Tony: does he plan to take her down with him?

The factory girls are stunned to see Carla back at the helm at Underworld. Claire accuses Amy of teaching Joshua swear words. Tony's charged with Liam's murder. Sally nearly catches Kevin and Molly (when will this storyline be over? When will we be free of it?). Michelle wants to know if Carla knew that Tony killed Liam. At The Rovers, Becky's stunned when Claire calls a truce.

Lloyd begs Teresa to try and get on with Liz for his sake. John's pleased when Rosie tells him that she's thinking of returning to college... does Rosie have an ulterior motive? Well, of course she does. Michelle and Ryan prepare to face Liam's killer. Gail and Audrey sit down for a heart-to-heart.

Also on Coronation Street this week:
Audrey's invited to the Weatherfield Council Xmas party
Aunty Pam urges Molly to keep trying with Tyrone
Tony appears in court

Hollyoaks w/e Friday November 27

If, by any chance, you were expecting to see Stone Cold Sober singer Paloma Faith in Hollyoaks, don't hold your breath. Apparently she has revealed that she would never appear on the show because she thinks it's "rubbish". In a recent interview, she said: "I was on their music show - had I been offered a part on Hollyoaks, I would have firmly declined it because it's rubbish." Oh dear. Paloma won't be making a cameo appearance on Hollyoaks any time soon. Ricky Whittle, on the other hand, continues to do well in Strictly Come Dancing. He finished top of the leader board again. Can he do it?

Back to Hollyoaks and this week, Mercedes has her forthcoming routine HIV check-up, but she tells Malachy that she wants to go alone. Newt finds himself the unwanted centre of attention at school. Darren receives a frosty reception from Jack after his involvement in Tom's drunken encounter. Steph and Frankie bump into a slightly scruffy-looking Loretta as they walk through the village. Holly's kicked out of after school club; Cindy's fuming. The atmosphere between Malachy and Mercedes is tense; he continues to reassure her that the results will be fine.

Dominic appears with a live goat dressed as Rudolph, Tony's less than impressed. Jake's finding it hard to come to terms with his break-up. Amy's reluctant to spend time with her children, despite Ste trying to persuade her. Dominic's out for revenge after the incident with the goat. Lydia's terrified when she hears that Mike's going to visit Zoe in prison. Hannah tries to encourage Darren to apologise to Cindy and tell her that it was him who saved Holly's life. Meanwhile, as Mercedes and Malachy celebrate in The Loft, a heartbroken Calvin watches from a distance...

Also on Hollyoaks this week:
Newt and Gaz come to blows
Holly's electrocuted
Loretta walks out on Jake

Star Of EastEnders Shocked By Departure Of Barbara Windsor

babs22 Hello and welcome to another edition of A Slice Of Soap. There's still time to enter this week's caption competition so get scribbling and make us all laugh. Smile

Hey guys, as we all know, last month Barbara Windsor announced that she's leaving EastEnders. The news has come as a real shock not only to fans of the soap, but also to some of the stars of EastEnders aswell.

In a recent interview with Inside Soap, actress Rita Simons, who plays Roxy Mitchell described Barbara Windsor's decision to leave the show as "a real blow" stating: "I'm not over Larry Lamb (Archie Mitchell) leaving, so it was a real blow. For me, Barbara is the show and it'll be very strange when she goes.”

Simons added: "I'd hate to see Peggy die a gruesome death, so hopefully she'll go with the door left open - then if she ever wants to come back, she can." She continued: "It hasn't sunk in that Barbara's leaving because we've been working together so much. But it's her decision and whatever she wants to do, we'll all support her."

Well, I don't know about you soapsters, but as far as I'm concerned, EastEnders just won't be the same with out Barbara Windsor. I hope she's not killed off, cos at least that way we’ll always live in hope that she'll return to Albert Square some day...a bit like her wayward son Grant Mitchell.

Anyway, what do you think soapsters...should Peggy Mitchell be killed off or should she be written out of EastEnders? Let us know your thoughts by leaving a comment.

That's it for me, I'm out of here. Don’t forget to try our caption competition and join me on Friday for more soap news and gossip. Got a comment about your favourite soap, this blog or anything else? Share it with me.

Several newspapers today carry the Xmas TV schedules. There are it seems more than usual "festive" episodes of ordinary programmes: A "Santa Special" Deal Or No Deal, Sue Barker will be putting a sprig of holly in her jockstrap to introduce an Xmas "Question Of Sport", then just to add that air of extra jollity the season demands there is cancer in Coronation Street and murder in Eastenders (But then for most of this year Eastenders has been murder)

Oh for the days of Crossroads with Noele Gordon doing nothing more stimulating than pulling a  cracker with Ronnie Allen.

Eastenders must have the audience rivitted to their seats - it's the only way of stopping them leaving. TWO murders in TWO months (Archie AND Denise's ex) Why for goodness sake?. Surely it is about time man-of-the-crass (sorry CLOTH), Lucas was exposed as the thorough going hypocrite he is?. Remember the "Patrick" blackmail plot?. But it's all so BORING isn't it?.  What is Ryan except the new Shaun Slater?. This week more sisterly squawkings from battleaxe sisters Ronnie (the good time thats been had by all) and Roxy. We have had it all many, many times now. Perhaps it is time that twit Diderick Santer got sacked as Executive Producer and somebody more level-headed was bought in. Either sack him or ditch the programme, because he or it (perhaps both) have run out of steam.
As for Keith's extraordinary idea below, who does he suggest for a BDSM plot? Norris being chastised by Emily "Miss Whiplash" Bishop perhaps? (Naughty boys get bottom marks) :)

East Enders did me a tremendous service. I could stand it no longer, dumped a cutting edge television into the roller bin followed by the remote control and didn't even consider selling it. That was all ten years ago, now I do not know what is on television at all except for the drivel I get if I can stand to listen to Radio where they are all so * * * * * * up over television they don't as reporters used to, have interesting content, meaningfull discussions on  a range of topics, all they seem to know is Television. So I don't much listen to Radio you'll have guessed.

Interesting was the realisation as I walked away from the roller bin, that I felt as if shackles were falling from all over my body. I had immediately, ever since more energy, no longer have suicidal thoughts and depression, have developed instead a thriving business. even last year travelled to Las Vegas and later in the year Orlando as a Keynote speaker for an online social network.

One of the funniest things is when people visit my home and find instead of all the seating facing the evil one eyed bug, they face instead each other. They behave like trained rats with their stimulus removed. They show confusion, don't know where to look and I see them strain their necks to orient themselves wherever their own TV would normally be. Without control from a TV uncomfortable as they have to think, where are they to sit.  They even avoid looking at each other as if on a train, simply hilarious. Over the ten years I have seen the way Television has taken apart the morals, and discipline of our society particularly our youth which I could see ten years ago was underway.

I know however that if I tune in to BoretheNation Street or Crass Enders there will be a story covering at least one Black person, Asian person, Gay couple. There will be also school bullies, and someone being beaten by their husband or wife. Also there will be no doubt a spattering of school children encouraging our youth to be violent, disruptive and probably swearing at their teachers. There will also be HIV underage sex, sex outside marriage also portrayed like everything else on the shows as being normal, desirable behaviour. However there will still be no BDSM or Kinky sex because strangely it is still taboo while on TV, p * * * * * * * * ia, underage sex, and unsatisfactory sex is not. Still we are afraid to admit, that while common in many homes especially in the South, and in particular found at many venues that include the likes of Londons "Club Pedestal," "Subversion," even in the heady clubland of Brixton you find the localy famous "Torture Garden," many of you do it in the secrecy of your homes.  You wont find a Velda Lauder corset on Crass enders but you might find one on Londons Club rub owner Mistress Absolute. But that wont happen, while you are still fixating on Television instead of a real life of your own.

well eastenders have finally done it,reached the epitamy of awfulness.it has been dropping in credible storylines for many years now.completely agree with the 2 wort storylines being killing daniella and now heathers babys dad being darren, totally stupid.hopefully eastenders will soon be took off air before they truly ruin the name of hat was once quite a decent programme. i also agree with isobel on that DOCTORS an NEIGHBOURS ar the 2 best soaps, bbc were very very stupid to let neighbours go. what they need to do is change doctors and eastenders round in the schedule and give doctors a more prime time slot because that deserves it. many people miss the show as its through the day and its pure class television and then people hve to endure the stupidness of eastenders right at the time most people are watching tv. worse show, better time slot. what are bbc doing
